If you went shopping for a GOTRAX GX3 recently, you probably ran into the same wall we did: the listing is sold out. That is usually where the search starts — the GX3 is gone, so what actually gives me dual motors, 11-inch tires and real off-road suspension, today?
What "GX3" actually means
Strip away the marketing and the GX3 defines a class by five numbers. If a scooter hits most of these, it belongs in the comparison. Here is the GX3 as its manufacturer publishes it:
| Motor | Dual 2x1000W |
| Top speed | 38 mph |
| Range | Up to 60 miles |
| Battery | 54V 25Ah (1350Wh) |
| Tires | 11" x 3" pneumatic, quad-adjustable suspension |
| Weight / payload | 94 lb / 300 lb |
| Price | $1,699 (regular $2,199) |
Two things stand out. First, this class is heavy — 94 lb for the GX3, and it gets heavier as you go up. Second, the whole class commands a premium: the GX3 sits at $1,699, and its closest rivals run to $2,199 and beyond. So the honest question is not only "what replaces the GX3", but "what replaces it without costing more".

Manufacturer-quoted range figures are laboratory numbers. Real range falls with rider weight, hills, aggressive throttle use, tire pressure and cold weather — on any brand.
1. KEPOW K3 MASTER — the closest match on paper, for less money
If the GX3's spec sheet is your brief, the K3 MASTER is the nearest thing on this list. It puts up more motor power (2400W combined versus 2000W), a higher published top speed (65 km/h) and a longer published range (100 km) — for $1,317 against the GX3's $1,699.
What you get for that: two 1200W brushless motors, a 52V 25Ah lithium battery, front and rear dual suspension, 11-inch off-road tires, front and rear disc brakes, a 120 kg maximum load and a 25° climbing rating. It folds, it runs a colour LCD, and it carries a 2-year local warranty with a European service centre behind it.
2. KEPOW K3
Put that against the class average and the arithmetic is hard to argue with: the K3 costs roughly 40% of the GX3's list price while still delivering dual suspension, off-road tires and a 25° climbing rating. If your riding is mixed — gravel paths, forest tracks, rough city surfaces and a daily commute — that is the value play in this comparison, and the one with real stock behind it.
Support terms are stated on the product page: free shipping, delivery in 3–7 business days within the EU (7–12 business days for non-EU destinations including Norway and Switzerland), a 2-year local warranty, a 14-day return window and a Spain service centre for parts and repairs.
3. Varla Eagle One Pro — more speed, same money as the GX3
The Eagle One Pro is the most direct like-for-like swap for a GX3 buyer who wants the extra turn of speed. Dual 1000W hub motors with a 3600W peak output, a 60V 27Ah (1620Wh) battery, a claimed 45+ mph top speed and up to 60 miles of range, on 11-inch tubeless tires with dual hydraulic brakes plus ABS and a 330 lb payload.
It lists at $1,699 against a $2,599 regular price — the same sticker as the GX3, for a published speed advantage and a bigger battery.
4. Apollo Phantom 2.0 — the premium refinement pick
Apollo's Phantom 2.0 is what you buy when budget is not the constraint and ride quality is. Dual 1750W motors (3500W peak), 44 mph, up to 50 miles of range, a 52V 27Ah battery, 125mm dual-spring suspension, 11" x 4" hybrid tires, an IP66 water-resistance rating and a 330 lb max load. It is also the heaviest sensible option here at 102 lb.
At $2,199 it costs $882 more than the K3 MASTER for a comparable class of machine. That premium buys you a genuinely refined controller and suspension package, a tested repair-centre network and a lifetime frame warranty on top of the 12-month component cover. If you value service infrastructure over raw spec-per-dollar, it earns its price. If you want maximum dual-motor performance per dollar, it does not.
5. Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro — a different class, not a replacement
Include this one as a boundary marker rather than an alternative. Dual 2000W motors with an 8400W peak, a 72V 35Ah battery, a 62 mph top speed and a claimed 112 miles of range at $3,099 — the Wolf King GT Pro leaves the GX3 class entirely. It also weighs 115 lb, and it was showing as sold out in the option we checked.
If you genuinely need 60+ mph, this is the tier to shop in — but be clear that you are buying a different machine with different insurance, storage and riding-gear implications, not a GX3 substitute.
Budget end: if the GX3 was already at your ceiling
Two cheaper routes into the same character of machine, both from KEPOW's off-road line: the K2 MASTER (dual 2x1000W, 50 km/h, 70 km, 48V 20Ah, $893) and the K2 MAX (single 1000W, 50 km/h, 65 km, 48V 20Ah, $698). If you want to stay with GOTRAX instead, the GX2 is the lower-power dual-motor model in the same GX series.
How to choose between them
1. Decide whether you actually need dual motors. A single 1000W motor handles gravel, light trails and steep city grades comfortably. Dual motors earn their keep on loose surfaces, sand, and sustained climbing. They also add weight and heat, so if your "off-road" is really a canal path with a rough surface, you are paying for capability you will not use.
2. Check weight against your reality. A 94 lb scooter is not a carry-up-the-stairs machine. If you need to lift it into a car or a lift lobby daily, that constraint rules out most of this list before performance does.
3. Weight the warranty and service location heavily. These are high-discharge lithium machines with hydraulic or disc braking systems. What matters 12 months in is whether spare parts and a service centre exist in your region — and how long the warranty runs. Compare that before comparing peak watts.
4. Treat range claims as comparative, not literal. A published 100 km and a published 60 miles are measured under ideal conditions. Use them to rank machines, not to plan a specific journey.
Frequently asked questions
What is the closest spec match to a GX3?
The KEPOW K3 MASTER. It publishes 2400W of combined dual-motor power, a 65 km/h top speed, a 100 km range on a 52V 25Ah battery, 11-inch off-road tires and front and rear dual suspension — at $1,317.
What is the cheapest way into this class of scooter?
The KEPOW K3, from $647, or $717 for the 52V 20.8Ah long-range configuration. It delivers a 1000W motor, 70 km of published range, dual suspension, dual disc brakes and 10-inch off-road tires at roughly 40% of the GX3's price.
Do I need dual motors for off-road riding?
Not always. Dual motors pay off on loose gravel, sand and long climbs, where spreading torque across two wheels improves traction and reduces wheelspin. For hard-packed trails and rough urban surfaces, a well-tuned single 1000W motor is lighter and less expensive to run.
How far will one of these scooters really go on a charge?
Less than the published figure, in most real conditions. Range falls with rider weight, hills, repeated hard acceleration, tire pressure and cold weather. The published numbers are most useful for ranking scooters against each other.
The bottom line
The GX3 defined a good class of machine — dual motors, 11-inch tires, genuine suspension, a 300 lb payload — and then made itself hard to buy. The alternatives that matter are the ones that keep that capability and drop the price.
On the numbers we verified, the KEPOW K3 MASTER is the closest spec match to the GX3 and it costs $382 less; the KEPOW K3 is the value route into the class and the one with stock on hand today. Both carry a 2-year local warranty, free shipping and a European service centre behind them.
